2025 Measles Outbreak

Update 4/18/25: There have been 800 confirmed cases of measles in 24 states this year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The total is likely a significant undercount because it only includes those ill enough to see care. About 97% of people infected have been unvaccinated or had unknown vaccination status. About 11% have been hospitalized. Three people have died.

April 18, 2025 — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting 800 confirmed measles cases in 24 states, an increase of 88 cases from one week prior.
