This year’s annual Community Cares Project partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. The volunteers worked at Willie Mays Boys & Girls Club at Hunters Point and Visitation Clubhouse assisting staff with gardening, cleaning up a baseball field, organizing books, making name tags and playing with the children after school.
Now in its seventh year, the project drew undergraduate and medical students, residents, pediatricians, specialists, spouses and children from across the country and as far as Australia.
For many of the attendees, the half-day event has become a small giveback opportunity that they eagerly anticipate every year.
