The AAP is collecting and sharing all publicly available data from states on confirmed COVID-19 cases in children. Reports are updated weekly on AAP.org at https://bit.ly/2LigD8n.
To provide a U.S. summary, the AAP report compiles data posted each week on state and city health department websites on the age distribution of confirmed COVID-19 cases, the number of states and territories reporting the information, the percent of children represented, and hospitalization and testing information.
Since mid-April, the percent of total confirmed U.S. COVID-19 cases each week who are children has ranged from 2% to 3.2%, and state-specific rates are provided in the report.
