Dr. SteinFernando Stein, M.D., FAAP, of Houston, has been elected AAP president-elect. He ran against Lynda M. Young, M.D., FAAP, of Worcester, Mass.
Dr. Stein follows Benard P. Dreyer, M.D., FAAP, of New York, who assumes the office of AAP president Jan. 1, 2016. Dr. Stein takes over as president on Jan. 1, 2017.
Voters also approved a referendum to the bylaws permitting chapters to send an alternate member to participate and vote in District Nominating Committee meetings when the chapter president or vice president is unable to do so.
