Whether you’re 35 or 65, entering the profession or a new phase in your career, the AAP Section on Early Career Physicians wants you as a member. Formerly the Section on Young Physicians, the section is open to all ages.
The section originally was created to meet the needs of young members. Times have changed, and now pediatricians are joining the field later in life or switching fields within the profession. This is where the Section on Early Career Physicians can help.
The section continues to provide resources to assist members in the transition from training to first jobs, but additionally focuses on resources for members in the first decade or so of their career or who are transitioning to a new job/specialty. It also gives members support in areas of work/life balance, financial health, leadership development and physician wellness.
The section will offer a program and networking reception during the AAP National Conference & Exhibition on Oct. 23 in San Francisco.
