Sustaining Breastfeeding Together is the theme of this year’s World Breastfeeding Week, celebrated internationally Aug. 1-7. The U.S. Breastfeeding Committee (www.usbreastfeeding.org) celebrates National Breastfeeding Month throughout August.
The campaigns call on advocates and decision-makers to form partnerships and protect and promote breastfeeding.
In support of these campaigns, the AAP Section on Breastfeeding encourages pediatricians to check out its educational, policy and advocacy resources to help families support optimal breastfeeding practices and environments.
- The PediaLink course Breastfeeding Matters — The Pediatrician's Role is offered for free Aug. 1-7. Register at http://bit.ly/29nNTsr.
- AAP social media sites will highlight National Breastfeeding Month activities. Pediatricians can share their activities via the Section on Breastfeeding Facebook page, http://bit.ly/29sKKXq.
