New in 2016 is a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) Category I code for reporting the work related to transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation (TPVI). Code 3347X1 replaces Category III code 0262T, which has been deleted.

The following instructions have been added to specify the work that is included in TPVI and those services that may be separately reported when performed:

Code 3347X1 is used to report transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation (TPVI). Code 3347X1 should only be reported once per session.

Code 3347X1 includes the work, when performed, of per- cutaneous access, placing the access sheath, advancing the repair device delivery system into position, repositioning the device as needed, and deploying the device(s). Angiography, radiological supervision, and interpretation performed to guide TPVI (eg, guiding device placement and documenting completion of the intervention) are included in the code.
