Numerous changes in the surgical section of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2010 will be effective for services performed on and after January 1, 2010. Following is a summary of only a few of those changes. Please review Appendix B in your CPT 2010 manual to learn the new, revised, and deleted surgical codes that are applicable to your practice.
New text is underlined, deleted text is indicated with a
strike through, new codes are identified with the bullet () symbol, revised codes are identified with the triangle () symbol, and codes that include moderate sedation are identified with the bull’s-eye () symbol.
