The 2011 changes to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) are effective for reporting services provided on or after January 1, 2011. The code changes that are described in this article include those services most often performed and reported by primary care pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. The changes described herein are not inclusive of all revisions made to the 2011 CPT. Refer to CPT 2011 for a complete listing of new codes, descriptions, and revisions.

To provide a clear understanding, the changes are presented using the format followed by the CPT Editorial Panel meeting minutes. Sections without any revisions will include only the first few italicized words of the section followed by an ellipsis (eg, The inclusion of time…).
