November 2024 Special Event
Focus on Prematurity
Please visit the First 1,000 Days Knowledge Center throughout the month of November as we recognize Prematurity Awareness Month, highlight the important factors involved in evaluating and caring for children born preterm, and provide guidance on best practices.
Throughout November, the First 1,000 Days Knowledge Center is adding new prematurity-focused content and features to the site, and highlighting existing great resources.
“Focus on Prematurity” Special Module
A special module has been created collecting the key information about preterm care from the current modules, all in one place. You will have access to two complete prematurity-focused modules, as well as prematurity-related items from other modules.
New interactive content has also been added to the module, including:
● Components of Health and Developmental Surveillance for the Preterm and High-Risk Infant
● Recommendations for Hospital Discharge of the High-Risk Neonate
Care of the Late Preterm Infant Highlights Webinar
A shorter, key-findings webinar has been created from Dr. Deborah Campbell's presentation "Care of The Late Preterm Infant". In this highlights version video, Dr. Campbell discusses definitions, epidemiology, etiology, social determinants of health, postnatal concerns, monitoring growth, and emerging skills.
“Question of the Week” Prematurity Focus
During the month of November, all Question of the Week quizzes will focus on prematurity content. For anyone who chooses to provide their name when taking the quizzes, a leaderboard will be posted to the website listing top scores throughout the month. Rankings will be ordered by number of correct answers, followed by quickest to answer. The winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.
We hope you enjoy the Focus on Prematurity during November, as you continue your important work caring for children and their health
