Similar to previous well visits, the to-do list at the 9 month well visit is extensive. The provider must elicit an updated health, developmental, and social history; observe caregiver-child interactions; perform a comprehensive physical exam; guide families through needed screening and assessments; and prepare caregivers for what to expect in the interval between this and the next well visit. Bright Futures provides comprehensive guidance on the components and priorities for the 9 month well visit.
