To read, inside the cover of this small handbook, the list of other Children's Bureau publications on handicapped children, creates a depressing sense of the burdens afflicting so many children and parents. Although one may begin reading these 20 pages on the mongoloid baby with sadness for the thousands of unknown mothers and fathers who must have read them, one continues with increasing admiration for the anonymous author's relatively unemotional and wise presentation of so much information.
