A 7-month-old child with severe thyrotoxicosis of several month's duration is presented whose initial symptoms were gastrointestinal disturbances and poor weight gain. She is the sixth reported case of spontaneous hyperthyroidism in infancy and the first to be diagnosed chemically. She is also the first infant with spontaneous thyrotoxicosis to be treated with propyolthiouracil.
