The article by Dr. Jacob Øster1 describes very well the symptom complex which is now recognized by allergists under the name "the allergic tension-fatigue syndrome." As a pediatrician working primarily with gastrointestinal disorders, I have come in intimate contact with many children and parents with this symptom complex. In many of them I have seen remarkable improvement or complete disappearance of such symptoms with institution of elimination diets restricting common food allergens such as milk, wheat, and corn.
