Dr O'Connor is correct that there have been a few reports of nutritional rickets reported in the United States in the past few years, in addition to ours. I hesitate, however, to generalize these findings too widely. Most of our cases were due to unusual feeding practices. Even with our addition of 24 cases, the total number of reported cases of nutritional rickets in this country is small, though there are probably many more cases that are not diagnosed or reported.
