Dr Perlman expresses concern that readers of "Phototherapy for Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia: Six-Year Follow-up of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Clinical Trial"1 could interpret our conclusions that phototherapy demonstrated a beneficial reduction or prevention of brain damage.
