In Recommendation No. 3 of the Academy's policy statement on the use of oral acyclovir therapy for varicella, which appeared in the March 1993 (Vol 91, No 3) issue of PEDIATRICS, a dosage error appears.
The recommendation should read:
"When given, oral acyclovir should be administered for 5 days, starting within the first 24 hours of rash onset, at a dose of 20 mg/kg four times a day, with a maximum dose of 800 mg four times a day."
