In November 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics reaffirmed the following publication: Diekema DS; American Academy of Pediatrics, Committee on Bioethics. Responding to parents who refuse immunization for their children. Pediatrics. 2005;115(5):1428–1431. The reaffirmation includes 1 change in wording, as follows: In the section “Responding to Parents Who Refuse Immunization for Their Children,” sixth paragraph, the fifth sentence should read “In general, pediatricians should endeavor not to discharge patients from their practices solely because a parent refuses to immunize a child.”
