Errors occurred in the article by Ames et al titled “Emergency Department Pediatric Readiness and Mortality in Critically Ill Children” published in the September 2019 issue of Pediatrics (2019;144[3]: e20190568; doi:10.1542/peds.2019-0568).

In Table 2, the row reporting the frequency of patients with an emergency department severity score of 1 was in violation of the terms of the authors’ data use agreement (DUA) with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, which specified that table cells with ≤10 observations be suppressed in published materials. This row has been combined with other rows in the table.

Also in Table 2, the cell reporting the frequency of patients in the sepsis subgroup quartile 1 of WPRS was in violation of the terms of the DUA. This cell has been changed to “<10.”

In Supplemental Table 7, the 3 rows reporting in location of death after the initial emergency department encounter were similarly in violation of terms of the DUA. The rows have been combined.
