Red Book Online Presents: Diagnosis Detective | March 2025
Editor: Kristina A. Bryant, MD, FAAP
A pediatrician receives an electronic health record message from the mother of a two-year-old patient. The family is vacationing near a beach in Miami, Florida and the child has developed an itchy, serpiginous rash on the left ankle. The rash seems to be getting worse every day. The child has no fever or other systemic symptoms, and no one else in the family has a rash. The family has not traveled internationally.
